BEE BALM  Monarda fistulosa
Every year in June and July Bee Balm blooms in intense shades of pink,
salmon, red, scarlet and crimson. Butterflies and hummingbirds find them
irresistible. Leaves are mint scented and used to make Oswego tea. The
mildew resistant plants grow to 3-feet tall.

BLUE EYED GRASS  Siscyrinchium iridaceae
As you might expect from the common name, blue-eyed grass has
grass-like foliage with a purple flower. However, it is in the Iris

A close relative to the Lily-of-the-Valley, grows 18 inches-2

Swamp Milkweed  has a high tolerance for waterlogged

pink, white, mauve flowers grows out of the end of each of

BLOOD ROOT  Sanguinaria canadensis
Blood root prefers shaded, moist woodlands and is native to North America.
Blood root is also endangered. It is one of the first to appear in spring, with
delicate white flowers and a distinctive wrap around leaf. Indians used the root
juice as body paint. Also used by early settlers as cures from skin cancer to
sore throats, warts, fungus, ringworm etc. The FDA also approved use of the
root in toothpastes as an anti-bacterial and anti-plaque agent.

Violets are known as the flower for any situation. Tender, sweet
and innocent. This blue violet is a sure bet when one wants to add
violets to their garden. Does well in any situation. Blooms early

YELLOW LADY SLIPPER Cypripedium pubescens
The elusive, sought after Lady Slipper plant is one of nature's
most beautiful creations. This particular lady slipper forms several
branches of flowers in yellow. A showy flower that attracts bees
and other flying insects. Our lady slippers seeds are not gathered
from the wild, but cultivated from nursery propagated plants. This
variety is more often seen in abundance  but still , by no means
common. One of the easier orchids to maintain.
